Evaluations & Therapy Sessions
Our speech therapy sessions are motivating, creative, and playful! It is our goal to help your child develop new communication skills while engaging in activities that they enjoy!
Evaluation
Our first step is completing an evaluation which will include building a relationship with your child and gathering information about their communication skills. This will help us better understand your child’s strengths and weaknesses so we can develop a therapy plan that best supports their needs! Evaluations typically take an hour or longer to complete. Initial evaluations include:
-
A parent or caregiver interview
-
Child Observations
-
Play-based and informal assessments
-
Formal standardized testing
After the evaluation is completed, you will receive a written report with that will include whether your child qualifies for speech-language therapy services and our recommendations. We work with you to set therapy goals together and schedule sessions that work best for your family!
Individual Therapy Sessions
We pride ourselves on tailoring our speech therapy sessions to the individual needs and interests of each child. Our therapists first work on building a strong rapport with each child and family to learn their interests, strengths, and needs so that sessions are truly motivating! We love to incorporate a play based therapy model in our sessions. We encourage parents and caregivers to join in and participate during speech therapy sessions! We also welcome them to stay and observe new communication strategies being taught as well as ask/answer any questions they may have!
Early Intervention &
Parent Coaching
When working with children ages birth-3 we strongly encourage parents to be active participants in each session. Working side by side with your speech therapist they will guide you to interact with your child utilizing different speech and language strategies and visual supports that can be used in the home! Early intervention and parent coaching sessions will help you:
-
Use play, music, and daily routines to connect and communicate with your child

No Surprises Act &Â Good Faith Estimates
Beginning January 1, 2022, if you’re uninsured or if you opt for self-pay (i.e., not going through your health insurance), health care providers like me must provide you with an estimate of the expected charges before you get an item or service. This is called a good faith estimate(GFE).
Providers and facilities must provide you with a GFE if you request one, or after you’ve scheduled a service. It should include the expected charges for all items or services that are provided as part of the same scheduled experience. The provider must provide a list of all items and services associated with your care.
